# Roles and permissions > What owners, managers, and workers can do, plus the effect of membership status. - Canonical HTML: [https://syncroplan.com/en/docs/roles-and-permissions](https://syncroplan.com/en/docs/roles-and-permissions) - Language: English - Roles: owner, manager, worker - Keywords: owner, manager, worker, role, permission, status ## Outcome You will assign the right role and understand why an action is available or blocked. ## Before you start - An active account in the organization. ## Menu path Menu → Organization ## Step-by-step instructions 1. An owner opens Organization to review every member, role, and status. 2. Owner manages members, workers, absences, and time corrections, and can perform the other operational actions. Data import and export are available to an owner only on an active paid plan. 3. Manager manages the catalog, templates, orders, inventory, schedule, and working-time settings, but not members, worker records, time corrections, or imports. 4. Worker sees their own schedule and work time, completes permitted tasks, and handles attachments only for assigned order operations. 5. An owner creates and edits members, resets passwords, and changes the role or Pending, Active, and Disabled status. ## What you see on screen - Pending means the first password change is not complete; Active permits work; Disabled blocks access. - A disabled control can mean either insufficient permission or an unmet business condition. - Pending and active worker memberships each consume one worker seat. Trial accounts are unlimited; a paid plan may have a configured limit. ## Effects of changes - Role changes apply when the member data next refreshes. - Disabling a membership blocks access without deleting history. - A manager cannot manually assign a worker to an operation or redefine template product fields. - After a trial or paid plan expires, roles remain stored but operational access is blocked. ## Important warnings - The last active owner cannot be downgraded or disabled. ## Common problems ### A control is visible but disabled. Check the role and required data. Shared screens can contain role-restricted actions. ### Another worker cannot be activated. On an active trial, check username validity and uniqueness. On a paid plan, also review seat usage and ask to change the plan or disable an unused worker membership. ## Related articles - [Organization](https://syncroplan.com/en/docs/organization.md): Organization details, plan and seat usage, member roles and statuses, accounts, and temporary passwords. - [Workers](https://syncroplan.com/en/docs/workers.md): Production profiles, accounts, skills, absences, inactive status, and schedule impact analysis. - [First sign-in](https://syncroplan.com/en/docs/first-sign-in.md): From organization registration or receiving a login to choosing your own password and opening the workspace. ## Screenshots - [The owner manages role and status controls; account addresses are redacted.](https://syncroplan.com/docs/en/organization.webp): Organization tab with roles, statuses, and worker seat usage
