# Workers > Production profiles, accounts, skills, absences, inactive status, and schedule impact analysis. - Canonical HTML: [https://syncroplan.com/en/docs/workers](https://syncroplan.com/en/docs/workers) - Language: English - Roles: owner, manager, worker - Keywords: workers, skills, account, absence, inactive, impact ## Outcome You will create scheduling resources and understand the impact of their unavailability. ## Before you start - Processes must exist before skills can be selected. - Creating or changing workers requires Owner. ## Menu path Menu → Workers ## Step-by-step instructions 1. Keep member and worker distinct: a member controls access; a worker is a skilled scheduling resource linked to an account. 2. Create a new worker only in Organization. Saving a Worker member automatically adds a profile here without skills. 3. Use “Edit” to assign skills. Change first and last name in Organization; the worker profile updates automatically. 4. Select “Absence”, enter its date range, and review deadline impact before confirming. 5. Before “Delete”, review which orders become late or unschedulable. 6. Changing a manager or owner to Worker creates a profile without skills. Changing a Worker to another role first requires deleting the profile after impact analysis. 7. Deleting the profile disables its membership but preserves the account and history. Reactivate it through Organization status. ## What you see on screen - A card shows name, account, skills, Inactive state, and absences. - Impact compares planned completion before and after the change and flags new delays. - Managers can view the team and request impact analysis but cannot save worker changes; a worker sees only their profile. ## Effects of changes - Skills determine which processes the scheduler may assign. - An absence removes availability for its date range and confirmed changes refresh future planning. - Deletion removes skills, absences, and future schedule entries and disables access, while completed work and history remain. ## Important warnings - Deleting a worker is permanent. Review impact and ensure remaining workers cover the required skills. ## Common problems ### The worker is never scheduled. Check skill, membership status, absence dates, and the operation's headcount. ### The profile cannot be edited. Only an owner manages workers; reactivate an inactive linked membership first. ## Related articles - [Organization](https://syncroplan.com/en/docs/organization.md): Organization details, plan and seat usage, member roles and statuses, accounts, and temporary passwords. - [Processes](https://syncroplan.com/en/docs/operations.md): Reusable process definitions with workstation, default duration, skills, templates, and order usage. - [Calendar](https://syncroplan.com/en/docs/calendar.md): Monthly scheduled hours, capacity, utilization, downtime, and navigation to a day. - [Roles and permissions](https://syncroplan.com/en/docs/roles-and-permissions.md): What owners, managers, and workers can do, plus the effect of membership status.
